From Half Dome
to a t-shirt.
How one granite profile, a stack of trail-worn colors and several opinionated bears became the first Happy Trails Park Series collection.
A good park shirt should feel less like something from a gift rack and more like something discovered in the bottom of a very excellent old duffel bag.
That was the assignment for Yosemite: build a collection with sun-faded color, rough ink, recognizable landmarks and enough personality to live far beyond a vacation week.
Start with the silhouette
Half Dome has one of those rare outlines that stays recognizable after nearly everything else is removed. We used that shape as the collection’s visual compass, then surrounded it with angular ridgelines, pines and bands of sunset color.
The aim was not a literal landscape painting. It was the memory of the view: the part that stays after the photograph gets buried in your camera roll.
Use colors that have been somewhere
Slate blue, warm red, trail-sign orange, sun gold and weathered cream give the collection its shared language. The colors are bright enough to carry the landscape, but distressed enough to feel broken-in from day one.
That imperfection matters. Sharp, polished graphics can feel new in the wrong way. Yosemite needed scratches, uneven ink and the visual equivalent of dust on the dashboard.
Let the bears have a say
Not every design needed to be reverent. Yosemite is grand, but a collection built entirely from solemn mountain portraits would miss the humor, curiosity and family memories that make park trips personal.
So the bears took over the youth drop: optimistic, slightly goofy and ready for the Young Bears Club. The grown-up bear artwork stays wilder and more atmospheric, giving the collection both sides of the story.

Make the sticker the trail pass
The Park Series sticker is not leftover merchandise. It is the thread connecting one destination to the next. Yosemite carries No. 01 because every collection needs a first trail stop—and every collector deserves the satisfaction of starting at the beginning.
During October, the Yosemite sticker comes free with a qualifying Yosemite item while supplies last. After that, the trail moves on, the passport gets another stamp and a new park takes the lead.
The final test
Every piece had to answer three questions: Does it feel unmistakably Yosemite? Would we want to find it in an old trail-town shop? And will it still look good after the trip becomes a story?
If the answer was yes three times, it made the pack.

The trail moves on.
Yosemite starts the passport. The next stop sits farther east, where the ridgelines turn blue and the mornings have a habit of disappearing into the mist.
